well, every place has really really stupid rules. and well IBA’s no exception. so here are a few
1. no sitting on the cars of the faculty, they’ll break.
2. you cant have a make up exam even if you are close to dying, its a policy. (the new prospectus says that there wil be no make up examinations in any case, which i guess covers this)
3. you have to take the first internship IBA offers, even if it’s really really bad, or go find one yourself.
4. to do a bake sale, you need to have permission for the tent too.
5. you cant bring in the free newspaper in to the library. ( i am pretty sure the librarian made it up, so he doesnt have to clean up the extra newspapers)

@old boy.
i dont mean to get defensive, but crudely put this blog was initially there so i could whine about IBA
secondly these rules are the stupid ones. they actually hamper the real talent to grow. IBA is a university which supposedly has the one of the best talent pool in the country. some rules just hamper growth. like take the tea one. i could never stay up in the class at 8.30 had i not had my cup of tea. and well considering that i usually got to school on the 8.30 bell cause of the development work everywhere, the whims of the bus driver and the random traffic jams and yes my own lazyness, the tea cup is a necessity. Now the rule officially states that you cant. but you can unofficially. the teachers dont mind.
the six absences rule is a bit absurd now. i ll do a seperate post on that.
the aim of this post is to point out rules that actually hamper the fostering of creativity. the rules i pointed out are mostly stupid, not written anywhere.
THERE IS NO RULE BOOK, or atleast i have not seen it. (doesnt mean it does not exist, just means its not being used)
the post was supposed to stimulate others to write more rules, so we could atleast come up with some sort of a rule book over here. and go over the ones that we can do without.
On me choosing the university. Yes i did. but that doesnt mean that i can not do anything to fix it.
everybody whines in IBA. 100% population of IBA is not happy. i am just the idiot who is trying to make my whining count so atleast something can happen out of it.
i want this blog to be the bridge between the administration and the students.
i want students to be happy about making the decision to be in IBA
i want them to take up ownership and do something about it. rather than just lower their heads and do nothing.

and to highlight the importance of one point
THERE IS NO RULE BOOK
how the hell does a student know what he is doing is wrong.
one sentence in prospectus , saying student should maintain good conduct is not enough. i know we cant make rules to encompass all, but there should be something to look at . you cant wait on the decision of a disciplinary committee to know whether what you did is punishable by expulsion or you can get away with a two day suspension
